The Culture Behind the Content
Why Kindness Comes First
I’ve always felt a strong passion for bringing joy to others through kindness. Some of my favorite videos on the internet are the ones where someone walks into a store and surprises a stranger with $500, completely unaware of how that moment could change that person’s life. While not every interaction can be something so big, a simple act of kindness to turn someone’s day around and bring a smile to their face is an easy way to add a little more joy in the everyday.
I followed Brittany for a few years before ever applying for a job. Like many of her followers, I enjoyed her content as a refreshing escape from the daily grind. But what truly set her apart from other creators was her consistent message of spreading kindness. At the time, I was in a role I loved, but the environment around me lacked the support and genuine care that helps people thrive. The way Brittany and her small team led with kindness and purpose resonated with me, and I realized that was something I wanted to be part of.

Now, nearly three years into my journey at Loverly Grey, I can genuinely say this is the best work environment I’ve experienced in my career. Kindness and intention are at the heart of everything we do. While that’s reflected in the meaningful content we share with the Loverly Grey community, it also shows up behind the scenes in the way we care for one another as a team.
I recently stepped into a new role as Manager of Culture and Communication. My goal in this position is to continue investing in the individuals on our team, creating a sense of support and connection that goes beyond just the office. Like many in-office roles, we spend just as much, if not more, time with our coworkers as we do with our families, and I believe in creating a workplace where people want to be each day. A positive culture benefits not only the individual, but the company as a whole, because when people feel supported and valued, they’re more motivated to do their best work.

While team outings, retreats, and thoughtfully planned experiences are important to building a strong culture, it’s often the small, everyday moments that make the biggest difference. Here are a few of our favorite ways to sprinkle joy into the office:
Thoughtful Traditions
We love a reason to celebrate! Whether it’s singing (a very on-key) Happy Birthday song, surprising someone with their favorite treat for a work anniversary, or passing around a card filled with kind messages from the team, these little gestures go a long way in making people feel appreciated.
Encouragement & Support
You never know when someone’s going through a tough time or feeling overwhelmed. A handwritten note, a kind word, or simply letting someone know they’re doing a great job can make all the difference.
Intentional Connections
Taking a few minutes to ask about someone’s weekend or how their spouse is doing may seem small, but these genuine conversations help build a real connection. It’s important to see your team as people, not just coworkers.
Celebrating Life Outside of Work
From first jobs and weddings to growing families and personal milestones, our team is made up of individuals in all different life stages. Taking the time to acknowledge and celebrate life beyond the office helps us feel unified and supported.
At Loverly Grey, we each have our individual roles, from content creation to operations, but it’s how we come together and support each other that drives our success. The same goes for culture. It’s the everyday moments of kindness, connection, and encouragement that truly make the difference.
We hope you will follow along @lifewithloverly as we continue sharing both the big and small moments that make this team so special. We can’t wait to give you a peek behind the scenes!
