Paris
Brittany and her family took a trip to Paris for a week to watch her brother compete in the Paralympics long jump event. The trip was planned for a full year prior to jumping across the pond, so she’s answering some of your most asked questions about the trip! A lot of you wanted to know about thewalkability of the city and where they stayed. And yes! Where they stayed was indeed super walkable! The airbnb was near Jardin du Luxembourg which was great for the kids to release their energy during the day. And Paris is a pretty walkable city in general with restaurants and shopping easily accessible and bakeries galore.So dreamy. They only rode the train once, but otherwise - they took cars or used the G7 app for the local taxis. The app is like Uber, but for local taxis. You can even indicate if you need a car seat.
As far as experiences/excursions, they did an Eiffel Tower experience one day and a baking class with the kids another! Brittany and Chris had friends that visited Paris the week before their trip, and they highly recommended this travel concierge company:Chocolatine in Seattle. The concierge service suggested a baking class that was held in an actual bakery and it turned out to be SUCH a special experience for the girls. Another experience Chocolatine booked for them was a scavenger hunt in the Louvre for the kids! Essentially, there was a riddle in each room that the kids would solve, write it out, and the answer would put together another clue! It was a great way to see the Louvre through a child’s eyes. Highly, highly recommended.
And as far as the actual Paralympics games, Jarryd took home the bronze! The girls were SO proud of their uncle - and there might even be some talk about Jarryd picking it back up for LA, but we’ll see! Stay tuned!!
